Blues prospect Jimmy Snuggerud declines to sign entry-level contract

It's the type of news Blues fans don' want to hear as their first round pick in the 2022 NHL entry draft has yet again decided to return to the NCAA's Minnesota Gophers for his junior year. This would now be his third year with the team. Jimmy Snuggerud to remain in the NCAA
The prospect has taken immense strides this year, being a hobey baker finalist and killing it at the 2024 WJC. Jimmy Snuggerud's amazing performance during the WJC
The club released the following statement about the 23rd overall pick's selection.
After talking to Jimmy and his family the past couple days, the organization fully supports his decision to commit to another season at the University of Minnesota. We look forward to watching his continued development towards becoming a solid contributor for the St. Louis Blues in the future by playing a lead role for the Golden Gophers against top college competition next year." - Doug Armstrong
The Gophers posted on their twitter account, and were quite stoked to find their top player return to the team.

Hold your horses however, Logan Cooley made the very same announcement last year but then opted last minute to head to the NHL with the Arizona Coyotes. The reality is that you never know until the start of training camp occurs, but as of right now, we won't be seeing Jimmy Snuggerud in an St.Louis Blues jersey for the 2024-25 NHL season.
