The Pittsburgh Penguins have not had as many opportunities to make headlines this year. Their latest debacle involved the theft of a shipment of bobbleheads. It seems, however, that the mystery of this robber's identity is one step closer to being solved.

Thief Steals Roughly 18,000 Jaromir Bobbleheads

It was announced recently that the Penguins suffered a loss of an entire shipment of Jaromir Jagr bobbleheads intended to be handed out at the game against the Sharks. This was roughly 18,000 units, resulting in the franchise announcing the delay fans would face in receiving theirs.

"The Penguins announced today that the shipment carrying the Jagr bobbleheads for tonight's game has been stolen en route to Pittsburgh.

As a result, the bobbleheads will not be distributed at tonight's game, but will be distributed at a later date."

Stolen Bobbleheads Appear On Ebay

Since the initial statement, many fans speculated on how this heist could have taken place. Given the large quantity, they suggest it would be quite difficult to get rid of the evidence and stay in the clear for long. Some, in fact, even entertain there were no bobbleheads to begin with, as some sort of ruse to get more attention.

It seems that the mystery may be a step closer to being solved, as one user found these bobbleheads posted on eBay. This may be the chance for authorities to track down the users and possibly recover these stolen goods.

However, without any of the physical objects in hand, the case is far from over. Many fans who get gear will post about them before receiving them, as some clever NHL followers were quick to point out.

With this development, it is difficult to not describe this as the biggest recent heist in hockey. While the hunt is still on for the missing bobbleheads, be sure to watch more on the story as it continues to develop.
