Tonight there was a QMJHL game between the Saint John Sea Dogs and Cape Breton Eagles. However, the game has now been suspended due to a medical emergency.

Major QMJHL Game Suspended Due To Medical Emergency

Today, the Eagles and Sea Dogs were at the beginning of the third period when the game was forced to be put on pause. Unfortunately, this was for a previously unmentioned medical emergency.

"⚠️ Due to a medical emergency, tonight's game between the @SJSeaDogs and @CBEHockey has been suspended. More details to follow. #QMJHL"

Since the initial statement, it was released that the individual in question was the head coach of the Sea Dogs, Travis Crickard. After collapsing behind the bench, Crickard was being transported to the hospital.

"Saint John Sea Dogs head coach Travis Crickard was conscious and en route to hospital after collapsing behind the bench in tonight's QMJHL game in Cape Breton. The game was called a final with 19:06 remaining in the 3rd period with Cape Breton leading 6-0."

He thankfully regained consciousness by the time he was en route to medical care. We hope you join us in wishing all the best for Travis Crickard in his recovery.
