With the Montreal Canadiens now struggling after what was a great start to the season, it appears players are attempting to find ways to get themselves and teammates into the game. Sharp eyes on the internet caught a message written on Habs centre Jesperi Kotkaniemi's stick during the team's 3-2 overtime loss to Ottawa Sunday night and it looks as though either Kotkaniemi is trying to hype himself up, or a teammate decided he could use some encouragement.

According to several posts on Twitter, the message written on Kotkaniemi's stick is in Finnish. It reads "Suutu jo vitu kusipää." Roughly translated, it means "Get mad already you f*cking sh*thead."

This may seem like a really random message, but for those from Finland, it's a very popular one. It comes from a video where a Finnish weightlifter is attempting to deadlift 340 kilograms, or 750 lbs. Those with him are cheering him on and one of them shouts this message at him repeatedly. So, essentially what you have here is a Finnish meme.

It's not clear if this is a message that Kotkaniemi wrote to himself or whether one of his Finnish teammates, Joel Armia or Artturi Lehkonen, are trying to hype him up. Either way, it's clear the Canadiens are using some unorthodox methods to try and get motivated.
