Elliotte Friedman Reveals Failed Blockbuster Trade Details Between Flyers And Avalanche

Claude Giroux is a Philadelphia Flyers legend, and when he was traded from the Flyers back in the 2021-22 season, it was major news. However, there was a potential scenario where Giroux would have been headed to a different home, in a trade that involved other assets.
Elliotte Friedman has revealed the details of one of that potential trade between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Colorado Avalanche which involved three first-round picks.
Friedman on 32TP says if Claude Giroux went to Colorado instead of Florida, it would have been for Justin Barron and a 1st RDer.

Giroux's Path to Ottawa Went Through Florida Instead of Colorado

The Senators are happy that they eventually landed Giroux after his brief stint with Florida, as he has been able to provide a veteran presence to the young Senators as they continue their rebuild. Last season he showed that he hasn't lost a step, scoring 35 goals and 44 assists for 89 points.
Both Giroux and Sens fans should be happy that he is in a place to help lead the helm through their rebuild, all while contributing to the Sens' production as well.
