With the Boston Bruins still heavily pushing to be a Stanley cup contender their desire for a top line center is known. A group of experts have speculated what it would cost to acquire a top line center.

Experts Predict What It Would Cost For The Bruins To Acquire First-Line Center

The Athletic has began speculating what it would cost for the Boston Bruins to acquire Calgary Flames center Elias Lindholm. This is what the group has come up with.
BOSTON Acquires: Elias Lindholm

CALGARY Acquires: 2025 1st Round Pick, Matt Poitras, Trent Frederic
The Flames who have been stuck in no mans land where they are not good enough to be cup contenders but not bad enough to get a top pick.
With Lindholm only having one year left on his contract the Bruins could be a team that acquire his services for the rest of the year.
The Flames are also a team that is looking for a player that is young and NHL ready which limits the amount of teams available.

How This Trade Breaks Down For The Bruins

The Bruins do give up quite a bit to acquire their much desired top center but it may be what they do.
Losing Matt Poitras is the big piece as no one thought he would be ready for the NHL this year but after an impressing pre-season the jump to the NHL was clear for the 19-year-old.
The former 2nd round pick has five goals and 15 total points in 33 games thus far into the season, even being on the team Canada World Juniors team this past winter.
The first round pick is something the Bruins may already be wanting to trade as they currently sit tops in the NHL tied with the Vancouver Canucks with 71 points. Holding on to that first round pick is something that rarely happens with top teams.
Trent Frederic being the third and final piece is a player that has not turned into the player they were hoping for when they drafted him 29th overall in the draft. He may be a piece that has run out of time in Boston.
While it is a heavy package to trade away bringing in a guy like Lindholm may push this Boston team into a real Stanley Cup contender.
