The Boston Bruins have been one of the best teams in the NHL yet again this season. However, the team just made a major move that will hurt the team in the short-term.
Bruins Place Star Defenseman McAvoy On Injured Reserve
Today it was announced that the Bruins had placed star defenseman Charlie McAvoy as well as forward Pavel Zacha on Injured Reserve.
The Bruins have placed Charlie McAvoy and Pavel Zacha on injured reserve.
McAvoy was injured on the 7th when Sabres forward JJ Peterka clipped him up high with a reverse hit.
As such, McAvoy's placement on IR will be retroactive to the 8th. This means he will next be available for the Bruins in their next game tomorrow against the Islanders. However, the timing of the move suggests that he will likely miss that game as well. The Bruins have a back-to-back tomorrow and Saturday, so it seems likely that he will miss both games. His next chance to suit up after that will be the 19th when the Bruins take on the Wild.
