In recent days Gary Bettman was exposed by insiders for his ridiculous takes on gambling.

Insider Exposes Bettman For Betting Takes

A new report from Darren Rovell who specializes in the business of sport called out Gary Bettman. He talked about how Bettman was once one of the leaders against gambling but has now taken a massive flip.

With Bettman and the NHL trending online, Sports Business Insider Darren Rovell took the opportunity to expose the commissioner for his hypocritical take on sports gambling. Less than a decade ago Bettman was at the forefront of protests AGAINST gambling in the NHL, now the NHL is a wasteland of gambling advertisements and partnerships. You can't even watch a game without being bombarded by companies like MGM Grand and FanDuel.

The NHL has been ramping up its betting partnerships while laying the hammer down on players for using the services that the league sponsors.

NHL Exposes Hypocritical Position On Gambling

The partnership with MGM Grand and FanDuel are not the only companies in recent years to have the NHL partner with them. The NHL recently announced a partnership with ESPN and theScore for betting options.

PENN Entertainment announces partnership with the @NHL for online sports betting brands ESPN BET and theScore Bet.

The hypocritical position of heavily partnering with these kinds of companies and then suspending players for betting needs to be addressed by the NHL. Betting on NHL games of course cannot happen.

However, shoving betting sites in viewers' faces and then punishing players for using the sites that all of their friends use seems a bit hypocritical.
