Taylor Hall Out out for the Season

The Chicago Blackhawks announced on Friday that veteran forward Taylor Hall would be undergoing surgery on his right knee, effectively putting him out for the season. The 2010 first overall pick has had 4 points through 10 games this season. Hall is an important part of the Blackhawks locker room, and his teammates will surely miss him. Rookie phenom Connor Bedard shared his thoughts on the injury in a recent interview.
» «It's heartbreaking. Someone that loves to play so much,» «Every game, so impactful. Such a good hockey player but also such a good person and means so much to our group. It's heartbreaking, like I said. Obviously, we're rooting for him and wishing him the best. We know he's still going to be around, and of course, a big part of the team. It's sad, but we know he's going to do what he can to get back.»

First Overall Picks

One of the big reasons that Taylor Hall was brought in initially was to help mentor fellow first overall selection Connor Bedard, so the organization is obviously disappointed with the injury. Bedard has dazzled through his first 18 NHL contests with 10 goals and 7 assists. The generational talent looks to keep this momentum going as the season progresses.
