Kraken Forward Jordan Eberle was taken to a hospital this morning as a precautionary measure after his leg was cut by a skate at morning practice. Now the general manager has released a statement regarding the incident.

Kraken General Manager Addresses Skate Related Injury

Ron Francis wanted to be clear about the nature of Eberle's injury so he released the following statement earlier this evening.

#SeaKraken GM Ron Francis: «It wasn't gushing but it was a deep cut, so they've taken him to a hospital and they're doing an MRI I think we dodged a bullet, but he's going to be pretty sore tomorrow.»

Luckily, it seems as though the injury was not bad enough as to cause serious concern, although it probably hurt a lot. The entire hockey world is on edge with regards to skate-related injuries after former Penguin Adam Johnson tragically passed away from a skate cut sustained during a game in the EIHL.

Kraken Prospects Get Chance In the NHL

With Eberle likely being unavailable for the next game or two, the Kraken made a significant roster move today, calling up two of their best forward prospects including Shane Wright.

This is Wright's second stint in the NHL. The former 4th overall pick has started to show why he was drafted so high as he's scored 4 goals through his first 7 games with Coachella Valley this season. Ryan Winterton, a 3rd round pick of the Kraken in 2021, has earned his first career call up to the big leagues. This is a good opportunity for a couple rookies to have an impact on a struggling Kraken team.
