It's not often that you see three active goalies on an NHL roster and it likely won't be something you see for much longer if the Montreal Canadiens can find a way to sort things out.

Over the first 11 games of the season, both Sam Montembeault and Jake Allen have received five starts apiece while Cayden Primeau has gotten one.
With the season well underway now, some team's early struggles have opened the door to potential suitors for one the Canadiens goaltenders.
Primeau, who is signed through 2024-25, has been the odd man out at this point, with just one start, but Montembeault could become an unrestricted free agent after this season.

Allen a wanted commodity

Allen has another year left on his contract, which also includes a seven-team no-trade clause, but this offseason a pair of teams – the Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings – had inquired about his services.
He has been the best of the bunch thus far, posting a 3-1-1 mark with 2.72 goals against average and a .927 save percentage.
Now in his fourth season with Montreal, Allen played in 42 games for the club last season, his most since joining the Canadiens.
