The Toronto Maple Leafs are as close to a playoff lock as a team can be, but last night they didn't show it. Fans made sure to let them know of their disappointment.
Leafs Booed off the Ice as the Second Period Ends
Against the red-hot LA Kings last night, the Maple Leafs mustered up just a single goal. They allowed four, and were truly blown out. Their stars didn't show up, and their goaltending was horrible.
Analyst Steve Dangle put it very concretely:
The Leafs have mostly been fine this season, even in losses. This game is the most disconnected, joyless, purposeless nonsense they've played in a long time. Sorry if you're in the building for this.
After being down 3-0 at the end of the second, fans began to boo them off the ice - well deserved due to their terrible game at that point.
