Fans Evacuated From Arena Due to Gruesome Medical Event
A game in the top pro league of the UK was stopped today when a player suffered from a catastrophic injury on the ice. The Nottingham Panthers of the EIHL announced on X this afternoon that fans in attendance at the game were asked to leave following the incident.
Fans Evacuated After Gruesome Injury
This is one of those rare instances where the situation is so serious, that the league and the teams do not want fans to witness what is happening. You know an injury is serious when the game is not only cancelled, but the fans are escorted out of the building.
According to eye witness accounts on social media, the scene was that unlike any most of us have ever seen. Players gathered around former Penguin Adam Johnson after his throat was sliced by a skate. The players formed a wall of privacy as paramedics rushed on to the ice. privacy screens came out as well. Reportedly, Johnson received CPR while on the ice.
We will update this story as soon as new details come out. For now though, our thoughts and prayers are with Johnson and his family.
