Some very disturbing allegations have just emerged regarding an incident that occurred in a Quebec minor hockey league.

Racist Actions Alleged to Occur in Minor Hockey League

According to investigative reporter Rick Westhead, several instances of racism occurred on an under-15 AAA hockey team in Quebec, including one incident that disturbingly mocks a police brutality scene which occurred in the US. Westhead tweeted out the details below.
«The report documented at least 14 instances of «racist gestures and remarks» by six players and criticized both the hockey organization and the team's head coach, who continues to coach minor hockey.

The report noted two Black players have since left the team.»
The horrible scene took place in the dressing room, with other racial remarks occurring on the ice, in the dressing room, and at school, according to reports. The re-enactment scene is particularly disturbing, publically humiliating the child to create a scene that was so publically, and rightly, condemned.

Disgusting Acts Show A Lot Needs To Change Still

These disgusting acts of racism by teenagers show that there is still an insurmountable amount of work that needs to be done to eradicate racism in sports.
Efforts like the Hockey Diversity Alliance are just the beginning of creating an inclusive game of hockey. A severe punishment should be handed out to all those involved in the repugnant events.
As seen on Hockey Feed - "Black hockey player assaulted by teammate who reenacted George Floyd's attack!"
