In a scary play, this Wild defenseman was severely shaken up after a scary hit by an Avalanche forward.

Scary Hit Leaves Wild Defender Daemon Hunt Shaken Up

About midway through the second period of the preseason game between the Colorado Avalanche and the Minnesota Wild, Wild defender Daemon Hunt went chasing a puck behind his own net. Avalanche forward Tanner Keo was skating the other way and caught Hunt with an elbow.

Hunt stays down on the ice for several moments and can be seen bloodied up by the hit as he is helped up by trainers.

No Place for This Style of Play in the NHL

The NHL is a fast league, and split-second actions can have severe consequences, just like what occurred in this play between Keo and Hunt. It is an especially scary scene when a player is hit in the head unsuspectingly.

It is hard to tell whether this hit was intentional by Keo. Without a statement from the player, there is no way to confirm it either. However, the video is pretty damning in that it appears Keo doesn't make an effort to get out of the way of the defenceless Hunt.

Luckily, Hunt was able to skate off under his own power after the incident.
