One of the remaining NHL Captain vacancies is expected to be filled by Tomorrow, according to reports.

Blues Captaincy To Be Filled Tomorrow

The St. Louis Blues have announced that they will be revealing their next Captain tomorrow at 11:30 a.m., (12:30p.m. EST/9:30 a.m. PST).
The Blues Captaincy has been vacant since Ryan O'Reilly was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs. O'Reilly had held the position since the 2020-21 NHL Season, was traded to Toronto in February.
There has not been any reports over who the new Captain will be, or any potential candidates, but there are a few possible players who could be likely frontrunners for the 'C'.

Potential Captain Options For St. Louis

Parayko is the longest-serving Blues player with the team, having been with St. Louis since the 2015-16 season, a 3rd Round Pick by the Blues in 2012. Parayko is signed until 2030 with a NTC, signaling that he is already a longterm asset for the team. Parayko also is the Active Games Played leader for the Blues with 577GP, 18th all-time. Like previous leaders Ryan O'Reilly, Alex Pietrangelo & David Backes, Parayko was a longtime Assistant Captain, and the most likely option to take on the Captaincy.
2nd Behind Parayko in Active GP leaders is Brayden Schenn. In his 6 seasons with the Blues, Schenn has been one of the most consistent players for St. Louis, being a reliable top-six, two-way Forward. Helping his case is that he was the Blues nominee for the King Clancy Award, given for the player who best displays leadership both on and off the ice. Already a leader in the locker room, he'll be sure to have a letter next year regardless.
Justin Faulk may have one advantage for himself in that he already has Captain experience, having been a Co-Captain with the Carolina Hurricanes alongside Jordan Staal in 2017-18. Faulk has improved throughout his 5 years with the Blues, struggling in his first year with just 16 Points, to 50 this past season, along with more maturity and confidence to his game. Faulk is the level-headed type of player needed to fill the Captain role.
Robert Thomas is still quite young, but already an Assistant Captain last season at 24, Thomas is already on the path to being a legitimate star player for the Blues. Thomas was a Captain in the OHL for a stacked London Knights team in 2017 as an 18-year-old. After 2 recent strong NHL seasons, Thomas is already counted on to be someone who'll make St. Louis a contender, and his long-term outlook might make him the right Captain if St. Louis wants a leader for years to come.
Kyrou is not likely going to be the next Captain, but he was their top player last season, and does warrant faint speculation, although it's more likely Kyrou could acquire an 'A', although there are many strong leaders in the Blues locker room, Kyrou may have to wait a bit to establish himself in the team's leadership group.
