Each year we see college players who decide not to sign with the club who drafted them. They then become free agents and can be signed by whatever team is interested. One Arizona Coyotes prospect has indicated this is the path he will be taking.

Farinacci Rejects The Coyotes

John Farinacci a 3rd round pick in 2019 is reportedly not going to be signing in Arizona. He was originally slated to be heading to Arizona but according to recent reports things have changed.

Contrary to previous information, John Farinacci had indicated to #Yotes       that he will turn pro with another team

He will become a free agent on August 15 unless Arizona trades his rights

Farinacci finished his career in the NCAA where he played with Harvard. At Harvard Farinacci totaled 61 points in 79 total games in his 3 seasons with the team. During the 2022-23 season, Farinacci was the team's captain and scored at over a point per game pace.

At just 22 years of age, Farinacci will be one of if not the best college free agents to hit the market this summer.

Where Might Farinacci Sign?

According to rumors Farinacci has been linked to the Boston Bruins and the Calgary Flames. Farinacci, a New Jersey native, has spent his last three years playing hockey in Massachusetts with Harvard. Calgary could gain the upper hand because they have one of Farinacci's best friends from Harvard Matthew Coronato on their team. It will be interesting to see which way the negotiations go and if a third dark horse organization enters the picture.
