Auston Matthews didn't have his best performance last year, and he fell one goal short of a massive career milestone.
300 Goals on the Horizon
Between injuries and a few bouts of bad luck, Auston Matthews couldn't live up to the 60-goal expectations set for him.
Now seven years into his career, Matthews has proven himself as a truly prolific goalscorer, and now lies at 299 for his career.
Opening Night Milestone?
It is entirely possible that he could score number 300 on opening night. If he does, he'll stay on track to be a generational sniper.
If he were to score #300, he would become only the fifth Maple Leaf to complete the feat. We are watching history here.
