From 2008 to 2020, Ben Bishop was one of the best goaltenders in the NHL, starring for the likes of the Dallas Stars and Tampa Bay Lightning, but will be fondly remembered for his role in the Dallas Stars push to the Stanley Cup Finals.

An incredible career

Over that span, the 6-foot-7 goalie tallied a solid 222-128 record with a .921 save percentage and 2.32 GAA average, with the best season of his career coming with the Stars in 2018-19.

Unfortunately, his NHL career came to an end in Dallas due to injuries, right after one of the best seasons of his career, and now, he will return to the Stars organization, but this time in a different role.

A new opportunity

Reportedly, Bishop has remained in Dallas since his retirement, and as announced by the Stars on Twitter, he is now taking a role as a player development coordinator within the Stars organization.

With a talented NHL roster and some promising prospects coming through, Bishop will play a key role as this team looks to get back to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since he was in net, and with Jake Oettinger looking to take the next step, there's no better player to bring back to the organization.
