The Coyotes have been a passion project of Bettmans since he became commissioner of the NHL 30 years ago. So much so that Bettman bailed out the Coyotes in favor of the Atlanta Thrashers which now appears to have been the wrong move.
Bettman released a statement on the Coyotes future last night:
What This Mean For The Coyotes Future
Exploring options means that the Coyotes have zero stability right now and they will be looking to move somewhere else. It is unlikely that this move is in Arizona as the Coyotes have now failed to establish themselves in Phoenix, Glendale, and now Tempe.
Some of the leading cities include the likes of Houston, Salt Lake City, Sacramento, Kansas City, Quebec City, and Halifax.
Wherever the NHL decides to relocate the Coyotes to, it will hopefully be a better future than that of the one in Arizona.
