Earlier today, Larry Brooks from the New York Post reported that the New York Rangers and their head coach, Gerard Gallant, have mutually agreed to part ways. This decision came after the Rangers were eliminated by the New Jersey Devils in the first round of the playoffs, which was deemed a disastrous outcome.

Despite the team's disappointing performance, Gallant is a highly respected coach and is not expected to remain unemployed for long. According to Aaron Portzline, a Columbus Blue Jackets insider, the team is interested in acquiring Gallant's services.

The Columbus Blue Jackets made one of the biggest signings in franchise history last summer by acquiring free agent Johnny Gaudreau. However, the team had a brutal season, and bringing in a coach like Gallant would be a significant move for the organization.
