Many teams are in need of a General Manager this coming offseason. While there are many viable options, one team may be looking at a former GM who has displayed success at the highest level but also has some skeletons in his closet.

Disgraced Former NHL GM Looks To Make Return

Stan Bowman was the GM of the Chicago Blackhawks where he won three Stanley Cups but also the GM during the Kyle Beech incident where a coach sexually assaulted Beech in 2010. This issue was brought to the attention of upper management but they did nothing and there were no immediate repercussions.

Bowman resigned as GM of the Blackhawks in 2019 after an investigation into the allegations from the 2010 incident.

Since then, Bowman has not held a role as an NHL GM but his past has not stopped other teams from looking into him as a candidate for their GM.

Bowman and the head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins have a history together which leads NHL Insider, Elliotte Friedman, to suggest that Bowman may be an ideal candidate for the Penguins.

With Bowman's past and talent as an NHL GM, it leads to a question of morality and whether or not he deserves a spot with an NHL organization.
