The Vancouver Canucks have no interest in a full rebuild. They proved this when they acquired Filip Hronek from the Detroit Wings. They're now eyeing another big move.

Canucks Eyeing Big Trade With Lightning

The Vancouver Canucks definitely have big pieces of their future core. Quinn Hughes put up a Norris-worthy season, while Elias Pettersson topped the 100-point plateau for the first time in his career.

They equally added Filip Hronek, who will hopefully complement Hughes for years to come.

They're bound to pick an impactful player at the 2023 draft, and it now appears they are looking to make another big trade.

Colton Could Change Addresses

Ross Colton has been a big part of the Tampa Bay Lightning's success, but unfortunately, due to the salary cap, it is unlikely the Lightning will be able to keep him.

The 26-year-old is an arbitration-eligible restricted free agent, and would be a fantastic add for the Canucks.

In the right situation, Colton could likely score 25, goals, and add in 20-25 assist. This commodity isn't gold, but it is more than the Lightning can afford, as he will be due a substantial raise from his $1.125-million salary.

We will have to wait and see if Patrik Allvin can pull this move off.
