When the Toronto Maple Leafs made the decision to put emergency backup goalie, Jett Alexander into the net with 1:10 left in the game it was meant to be a feel good moment. However, to at least one member of the Montreal Canadiens that's not how the team took it at all.

After the team's 7-1 loss, Montreal Canadiens defender Chris Wideman had the following to say to local reporters about the Maple Leafs decision.

They'll get what they deserve in a few weeks.

The Maple Leafs signed Alexander earlier today to an amateur tryout after Matt Murray failed to receive medical clearance to play. With the team up late, the Leafs opted to put Alexander in net to help him achieve his NHL dream. Something the Oilers had done with Matt Berlin of the University of Alberta earlier this year.

It's interesting to see Wideman take a stand on the matter, especially after earlier in his career he was caught in a taxi bad mouthing his entire coaching staff. This just begs the question, is Wideman upset it happened or is he upset it happened to him?

All things aside, if you don't want a team to be able to do this, play better. Don't give up a touchdown and this won't even be a possibility, otherwise keep your mouth shut.
