Liam O'Brien of the Arizona Coyotes blew up the internet Monday night with what has to be a potential Chirp of the Year winner. The Coyotes were taking on the New Jersey Devils, who happen to have just acquired Timo Meier from the San Jose Sharks at the trade deadline. O'Brien and Meier were familiar with each other before getting drafted into the NHL. Both played in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League against each other for a few years, Meier with the Halifax Mooseheads and O'Brien with Rimouski and the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. O'Brien used that experience to insult Meier, but failed to notice there was a hot mic not that far away.

After mixing it up during a shift, O'Brien skated to the bench, and could be seen looking over towards the New Jersey Devils players. After the camera cut back to the faceoff, the announcers were trying to talk when O'Brien started shouting.

If you didn't happen to catch it, O'Brien said "You probably didn't bang a single girl in Halifax. You're so f*cking ugly." It got a great laugh out of the announcers, who didn't dare repeat everything.

During his last season in the QMJHL, Meier was traded to the Huskies from the Mooseheads, but just missed being teammates with O'Brien. O'Brien turned a tryout with the Washington Capitals into an entry-level contract after being passed over in the NHL draft the previous year.
