Jonathan Toews is one of the big names expected to be in play with less than one month away from the National Hockey League's trade deadline. A proven winner, hoisting the Stanley Cup on three occasions, any team would be extremely lucky to land the 15-year veteran as they chase down hockey's greatest prize.

On Wednesday, David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reported that another team has entered the Jonathan Toews, the Washington Capitals. The Capitals join Colorado, Carolina and Toews' hometown Winnipeg Jets as the teams that have expressed interest in the former third overall pick.
"With clubs like Colorado, Carolina and Winnipeg continuously linked to Jonathan Toews, another team to add to the mix – and this one caught me off guard – is Washington. The Capitals have interest in Toews, but I do not know if he'll consider them an option." Pagnotta said.

Toews, 34, is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st for the first time in his career, unless he signs an extension with Chicago or any other team he potentially gets dealt to.
Earlier today, it was reported that Toews was missing practice for a fourth straight day with an illness, which has sparked concern. In late 2020, Toews was diagnosed with Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) and missed the entire 2020-21 season. Toews' health is top priority and hopefully he is doing okay.
The Winnipeg native has appeared in 46 games for the Blackhawks this season, recording 28 points (14 goals, 14 assists), 37 penalty minutes and is a minus-24.
