According to Mayor's Manor, the Los Angeles Kings have assigned rookie defenceman Brandt Clarke to the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League.

Clarke, 19, is coming off a gold medal performance at the 2023 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship with Canada, where he had eight points in seven games.

He'll now be returning to a Barrie team that he captained during the 2021-22 season. The Colts currently sit fourth in the OHL's Eastern Conference and are one point back of the Peterborough Petes for third.

Not only are the Colts competing with the Petes in the standings, according to Frank Seravalli, the two are also front runners to acquire 2022 fourth overall pick Shane Wright, who was assigned to the OHL's Kingston Frontenacs earlier today.

In nine games for the Kings this season, Clarke had two assists, six penalty minutes and was a minus-one.
