A couple of weeks have passed since Jacob Trouba absolutely destroyed Blackhawks forward Andreas Athanasiou, but that doesn't mean this beef has been settled. Athanasiou responded after Trouba's hit, suggesting that Trouba has to earn his hefty contract somehow and that injuring opposing players is what his game is all about.
Trouba clearly heard that message and responded in kind on Sunday night. In the Rangers' 7-1 rout of the Blackhawks, he blasted home a drop pass from Mika Zibanejad to give New York a 4-1 lead. Then, he chirped Athanasiou, asking if he wanted the puck with which he scored.
