It's been a whirlwind of a week for Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser. Originally, he was supposed to be a healthy scratch on Saturday night, with head coach Bruce Boudreau calling it ''tough love''. Boeser ended up drawing into the lineup after Dakota Joshua, his replacement, suffered an injury prior to the warm-up.

During Saturday's edition of '32 Thoughts' on Hockey Night in Canada, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman mentioned that, while it wasn't confirmed at the time, the Canucks granted Brock Boeser's agent permission to speak with other teams to try and find a fit.

According to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, Boeser's agent Ben Hankinson has confirmed that he has spoken with more than six teams regarding his client's availability, but nothing appears to be imminent.

"So [Boeser's] agent Ben Hankinson continues to talk to teams [and] he's talked to more than half a dozen teams since last week. I don't think this thing is imminent and I think it's going to take a lot of work between now and the March 3 NHL trade deadline." LeBrun said on Tuesday's edition of Insider Trading on TSN.

LeBrun went on to add that there is one team that is serious about trading for Boeser, but they want the Canucks to eat a portion of his contract, something Vancouver isn't keen on doing at this time.

"There is one team I believe that is pretty serious about getting involved if the Canucks [are] willing to eat part of Boeser's contract. But at this stage of the process, I don't think Vancouver wants to do that. Clearing some serious cap space has to be a very important part of any trade involving Boeser from the Canucks' perspective." LeBrun said.

Boeser, a native of Burnsville (Minnesota), is under contract for the next two seasons after the 2022-23 campaign with a cap hit of $6.65 million per year.

In 20 games this season, Boeser has put up 16 points (four goals, 12 assists), ten penalty minutes and is a minus-14.
