Lars Eller was assessed a two-minute minor penalty for an illegal check to the head of Florida's Carter Verhaeghe in their match on Tuesday night. First off, Verhaeghe was fine and would finish the game; no harm done. Second, upon rewatching the play - from all the angles - this appeared to be a hockey hit.

High? Perhaps. Then again, hockey is not a sport in which moseying with one's head down is a wise decision.

Rightfully, Eller was assessed no further discipline after the fact. Curiously, this could make a solid example of a use-case for reviewing penalty calls.

Now, now...the offsides reviews have not had universal popularity, as some viewers feel that lengthy challenge reviews suck the momentum out of the building. However, if we are talking about game-changing penalties/goals, the league has to get it right, regardless of viewer experience.

But, in Eller's case, if this were to get reviewed it likely would have been overturned. Eller's shoulder made contact with Verhaeghe's chest, not his head.
