The Anaheim Ducks will be without the services of defenceman Jamie Drysdale for the next four-to-six months. On Monday, the team announced that the 20-year-old has suffered a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

The Toronto native suffered the injury nearly half-way through the second period of Anaheim's game on Friday night against the Vegas Golden Knights. Drysdale had the puck behind his own net and as he goes to fire it up the boards, he gets hit by Golden Knights forward William Carrier. He left the game immediately and did not return.

In eight games so far this season, Drysdale hasn't recorded any points, has two penalty minutes and is a minus-three. He was looking to build off a strong first full season in the NHL, where he appeared in 81 games and put up 32 points, which was third among Ducks blue liners, behind Cam Fowler and Kevin Shattenkirk.

Worst case scenario (six months) means Drysdale will miss the remainder of the 2022-23 season, while best case (four/five months), could see the 2022 sixth overall pick suit up in late-February to late-March.

The Drysdale-less Ducks will be back in action on Tuesday night when they head up to San Jose to take on the Sharks at 10:30 p.m. ET.
