Gary Bettman Disrespects the Reigning Conn Smythe Trophy Winner with Latest Slip-Up
Gary Bettman is not the most well-liked figure in sports, this is known. He is known as a shrewd negotiator as well as an expert diplomat with a keen legal mind.
Depending on who you ask, Bettman could be considered anti-player, based off of his past misgivings, nonchalance toward head injuries, lockouts, etc, etc.
Well, he apparently can't even get the reigning playoff MVP's name right, either. I doubt Cale Makar really cares, but like come on, Gary.
Not trying to be the pedant who makes mountains out of mole hills here.
BUT.
This is pretty wild, and Gary should issue Cale a formal apology or give me $10,000. Whatever it takes to rectify this, to be honest. Unacceptable from the figurehead of the world's supposed greatest sports league.
