The Vancouver Canucks are among the many clubs battling a list of injuries as they prepare for the new NHL season. At the moment, forwards Brock Boeser and Ilya Mikheyev are both injured, as well as defenseman Tyler Myers and Travis Dermott.

The two forwards are both out a while, and Myers is expected out about a month. Dermott, on the other hand, was initially listed as day-to-day, but today they got some real concerning news.

GM Patrik Allvin said yesterday he believes Dermott has a concussion.

With an already substantial injury list, this is brutal news for the Canucks. As of today, the right half of their blue line looks like Luke Schenn, Jack Rathbone, and Tucker Poolman (who dealt with concussion-like symptoms as recently as this summer).

Many folks are high on the Canucks this season, but even with a healthy lineup the lineup has holes in it. Banged up like this, their playoff chances likely won't last long.
