Some tense moments from the KHL Monday as an 18-year-old player crashed into the boards and had to be stretchered off the ice. It just so happens that Yaroslav Tsulygin's father is an assistant coach with his son's team Salavat Ufa, and was forced to watch from the bench has his son was carried from the ice.

Tsulygin was chasing the puck near the boards when he went down. Just before falling, he was hit on the leg by the stick of Shane Prince of Spartak. Prince received a five minute major and was booted from the game. However, it's hard to imagine that the light tap contributed much to the fall. Take a look.

The person on the bench the camera kept going to is Tsulygin's father Nikolai, a second round draft pick of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in 1993. He played 22 games in the NHL. He is obviously very worried for his son and it's tough to blame him for that.

This was just Tsulygin's third KHL game as he went pro at the start of this season. He is said to be awake and alert, but there's no update on his injuries just yet.
