Most would be in agreeance that there is no team in the NHL that has improved over the course of the offseason more so than the Ottawa Senators. With additions such as Claude Giroux, Alex DeBrincat and Cam Talbot, they should be able to compete for a playoff spot this season in what is a very good Atlantic Division.

The improvements aren't being taken lightly by Senators fans, who have expressed their approval of general manager Pierre Dorion all offseason long. Their belief in the direction of the team has benefited the organization as well, as their season ticket sales have spiked in recent months.

This past season, the Senators had roughly 5,000 season-ticket holders, a number which is said to be the fewest in franchise history. However, that number is said to have increased dramatically, which will help improve what was a league worst average attendance of just 9,000 in 2021-22.

«I can tell you that the season-ticket membership is the highest it's been in years,» said Senators president Anthony LeBlanc. «We've seen a significant, significant increase – and it all started, really, around the time when Pierre (Dorion) started making some trades.»

While this is obviously great news for the Senators, the pressure is now on to see some results. This is a fanbase who is craving some playoff hockey, something they haven't been able to experience since their deep run back in 2017. If they are able to qualify for, or at least be in the running for the postseason, they should have no problem drawing similar support for the 2023-24 season.
