It must be something to have a hockey legend call you out in the comments section of an Instagram thread. That's exactly what Jaromir Jagr did on a post by Sportsnet regarding an older generation of players.

Sportsnet posted a photo of Pavel Bure, Wayne Gretzky, and Paul Kariya with the question "Who is one player you would have loved to see play in today's NHL?" Apparently, some of those in the comments thread believe that older generation of players wouldn't be able to keep up with the speed of the game today. One of those comments really seemed to get to Jagr.

"Bro I'm sorry but 50% of these guys wouldn't even put up 60 points in todays NHL," said one commenter.

"What?," replied Jagr. "I did it 66 point at age 44, 6 years ago. And same players on list are better than me. Mario [Lemieux] or Wayne Would be unstoppable."

It seems Jagr's comment managed to get through to that particular poster.

"Hey man I was kidding I was tryna make people upset on insta cause it's fun I respect you so much and your one of the best all time that I've ever witnessed. I'm so sorry man. Respect you a lot."

I've always kind of wondered about people who try to start crap on comment threads just for the "fun" of it. Either way, this person got called out by one of the best to ever play the game, and most of the replies agreed with Jagr that the old generation of players would be just fine in today's NHL if they were in their prime.
