With the offseason in the doldrums, we are jumping on any & all hockey content that surfaces. While this is not a fully credible rumor, I'm willing to share it & see what happens:

According to Seidel, a source who is in-the-know suggested to him that Nazem Kadri already has a deal sorted with the New York Islanders. This would be vintage Lou Lamoriello: strike a deal, don't say a word about it to anyone, and at the latest possible second, file the paperwork. Classic.

Obviously, as I mentioned, this report should not be considered breaking news, but it could be solid. Isles GM Lou Lamoriello works like that; loose lips sink ships.

Kadri would also be a perfect fit on Long Island. That would give them a center group of Mat Barzal, Kadri, Brock Nelson, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, and Casey Cizikas. Someone is either getting shipped out or moving to wing. With $11.2 million to sign Kadri plus RFA D Noah Dobson & D Alexander Romanov, the Islanders would definitely need to ship money out of town to fit those three. Stay tuned, never know what Lamoriello has in store...
