Darcy Kuemper Signs Five-Year Deal with Washington Capitals

After much ado over the fact, Darcy Kuemper has officially signed a five-year, $26.25 million contract ($5.25M AAV) with the Washington Capitals:

Kuemper is fresh off a Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche. The Capitals have unburdened themselves with both of their goalies from the 2021-22 season, Vitek Vanecek & Ilya Samsonov. As of now their goaltending tandem consists of Kuemper & newly signed Charlie Lindgren. They could possibly give Zach Fucale a chance to earn some starts as well.
