According to Edmonton Oilers Radio Network host Bob Stauffer, several pending free agents are closely monitoring Evander Kane's future with the club in hopes of possibly signing there themselves.

Stauffer mentions that with how well Kane's tenure worked out, many throughout the league are now in the belief that the Oilers are a legitimate Stanley Cup contender. That all being said, these unnamed free agents would likely not be able to join the team if Kane does in fact re-sign, due to their very limited cap space at the moment. Nonetheless, it appears that for the first time in a very long time, many around the league have interest when it comes to playing in Edmonton.

As for Kane, his mentioned tenure with the Oilers went even better than anyone could have imagined. The 30-year-old formed quick chemistry with Connor McDavid. Not only did he have 22 goals and 39 points in 43 regular season games, but he managed an even more impressive 13 goals and 17 points in 15 playoff outings. Safe to say, he is going to get paid this summer, whether by Edmonton or someone else.
