Canucks re-sign trio of players including prospect Jack Rathbone

The Vancouver Canucks announced a trio of signings on Friday including for defensive prospect Jack Rathbone.

Rathbone has been signed to a two-year, one-way contract worth $1.7 million ($850,000 AAV). Meanwhile, defenceman Noah Juulsen and forward Will Lockwood have agreed to one-year, two-way contracts for the 2022-23 season.

Rathbone, 23, had a strong 2021-22 season in the American Hockey League with the Abbotsford Canucks. In 39 games, the Boston native had 40 points (ten goals, 30 assists), fifteen penalty minutes and was a plus-four. He added one assist in two Calder Cup Playoff games. Rathbone also appeared in nine games for Vancouver during the season.

Juulsen, 25, was in his first season in the Canucks organization after spending the previous season in the Panthers organization. In 50 games for Abbotsford, the former first-round pick of the Montreal Canadiens had sixteen points (three goals, thirteen assists), 63 penalty minutes and was a minus-nine.

Lockwood, 24, was in his second season with the Canucks organization after four seasons at the University of Michigan. In 46 games in the AHL this year, the Royal Oak native had 25 points (nine goals, sixteen assists), 38 penalty minutes and was a plus-seven.
