The Montreal Canadiens have some pretty solid goalie prospects in their system with the likes of Frederik Dichow, Jakub Dobes and Joe Vrbetic, but one of their more experienced prospects is garnering trade interest from teams around the NHL.

According Jimmy Murphy of Montreal Hockey Now, NHL clubs are interested in Cayden Primeau, who had a fantastic playoff run with the Laval Rocket in the American Hockey League.

Murphy mentioned that an NHL executive told him that Primeau's value has gone back up following his playoff performance and one team that likes the 22-year-old is the New Jersey Devils.

"His value definitely went back up again," one NHL executive recently told Montreal Hockey Now. "I think what he did for the Rocket and getting them within three periods of the Calder Cup Final, showed the kid has a lot of guts and that he's mentally tough. We all knew the skill was there but that was a really impressive run after what happened in Montreal last season."

Primeau appeared in twelve games for the Canadiens this season, but spent the majority of it in the AHL with Laval. In 33 games with the Rocket, Primeau had a record of 16-12-3 with a 2.94 GAA, a .909 save percentage and two shutouts. He also had nine wins in the playoffs with a 2.17 GAA and a .936 save percentage as Laval lost in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Final against Springfield.
