Day 7 at the 2022 IIHF World Hockey Championship was a wild one both on and off the ice.

There wasn't a whole lot of action in the first two games of the day, but due to a small fire at the rink in Helsinki, the Germany/Denmark game was pushed back by an hour and a half to 11 a.m. ET. This also moved the Canada/Kazakhstan game to 2:30 p.m. ET from 1 p.m. ET.

In Tampere, the United States was led by Kieffer Bellows, who scored twice, as they won their third game of the tournament by a score of 3-0. Goaltender Jeremy Swayman made his first start of the World Championship and made 17 saves for the shutout.

United States goals: Kieffer Bellows (x2), Ben Meyers.

Meanwhile in Helsinki after the delay, Germany and Denmark played quite the uneventful game, but an important one in terms of the standings. Germany took the game by a score of 1-0 with netminder Philipp Grubauer making 18 saves for the shutout.

Germany's goal: Marc Michaelis.

In the second game of the day in Tampere, the Czechs got a massive boost to their lineup in Boston Bruins star David Pastrnak. Pastrnak wasted no time in making an impact, putting up a goal and an assist as Czechia scored five in the first period. Latvia would score early on in the first period, but it wasn't enough as Czechia won 5-1.

Czechia's goals: Michael Spacek, Tomas Hertl, Hynek Zohorna, Roman Cervenka, David Pastrnak.
Latvia's goal: Arturs Kulda.

Canada and Kazakhstan closed out Day 7 with a close game, which was pretty unexpected given how the Kazakhs have played coming into Thursday's tilt. Canadian defenceman Ryan Graves was injured by shot block in the third period. He left the game and did not return. Canada would go on to win the game by a score of 6-3 courtesy of a Dylan Cozens hat trick.

Canada's goals: Dylan Cozens (x3), Drake Batherson, Adam Lowry, Damon Severson.
Kazakhstan's goals: Yegor Petukhov, Arkadi Shestakov, Kirill Savitski.
