Canada Eliminated From U18 World Quarterfinals, Fall Short vs. Finland

This was a really disappointing tournament for Hockey Canada. It was supposed to be a chance to watch Connor Bedard & Adam Fantilli shine on the world stage, which they did. However, they were overshadowed by poor team results & an early exit.

Canada kicked off the tournament with an 8-3 defeat at the hands of the Americans. A result that would make most Canadians furious; can't lose to the Americans, period. And you definitely don't want to get blown out like that. After easily defeating the Germans, they then lost to Czechia in overtime. A defeat that would put the writing on the wall for Team Canada.

They played Team Finland in the quarterfinal and lost in devastating fashion.

After leading the Finns 3-2, Connor Bedard scored this absolute beauty:

As nice as it was, however, the lead would prove unsafe; an all too familiar feeling for Canada in this tournament.

After a disappointing tournament, Canada's players will look to redeem themselves in future tournaments.
