HockeyAllsvenskan, the second highest league in Sweden has suspended a player while determining his punishment for shooting a puck at an opponent after the game had ended and then slashing an official.

35-year-old defenceman Danial Rahimi is a former 3rd round draft pick of the Vancouver Canucks. He never played in the NHL, but did spend parts of three seasons in the AHL before going back to his home country. Rahimi is currently playing for Björklöven in the HockeyAllsvenskan finals against HV71. Rahimi was apparently not too pleased after losing the third game of the series 5-1 and decided to take out his frustrations after the final buzzer.

Rahimi took a big slapshot that hit HV71's Taylor Matson. This, of course, caused a scrum. After getting knocked to the ice, Rahimi got up and swing his stick at someone, hitting an official who was trying to keep things under control. You can see in the video that the official definitely felt the slash. While the league has already agreed the slash was meant for someone else, Rahimi is suspended until the disciplinary committee determines the proper punishment. This won't be Rahimi's first suspension. He got four games last season for kneeing an opponent during the playoffs. He also received a five game suspension five years ago while playing in the SHL for an illegal hit to the head.
