The Tampa Bay Lightning finally get to share their ultimate achievement--winning the Stanley Cup (twice)--at the White House. As unlikely as it is, the Lightning's two previous Stanley Cups did not result in the annual visit to the White House.

The 2003-04 championship was followed by the infamous Lockout, so no go there. Their 2019-20 Cup came in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, so for obvious reasons they were unable to go then as well.

Biden's speech was full of one-liners & anecdotes in usual fashion. In addition to the President's speech, Lightning owner, Jeff Vinik also offered a few words of encouragement for his team. Lightning alternate captain & US Olympian Ryan McDonagh also spoke & gave an impressive speech about the team's strength in the face of adversity.
