Lightning sign veteran goaltender to contract extension

The Tampa Bay Lightning announced on Friday that they've agreed to terms on one-year contract extension worth $900,000 with veteran goaltender Brian Elliott.

Elliott, 37, is in his first year with the Lightning after signing a one-year deal last summer. In 16 games, Elliott has a 9-3-3 record with a 2.23 GAA, a .923 save percentage, and one shutout.

The Newmarket (Ontario) native has spent parts of fifteen seasons in the National Hockey League, playing for the Ottawa Senators, Colorado Avalanche, St. Louis Blues, Calgary Flames, Philadelphia Flyers, and now, the Tampa Bay Lightning. In 517 career games, Elliott has a 265-158-52 record, a 2.52 GAA, a .911, and 43 shutouts.
