The Vancouver Canucks defeated the Vegas Golden Knights in overtime on Tuesday night to earn their fourth straight victory. They currently sit six points back of the Dallas Stars for the final wild card spot in the Western Conference and have eight games remaining.

After the game, Canucks forward Elias Pettersson said that the team is trying to stay focused and that the four-game winning streak "doesn't mean shit".

"We feel good now, we're four in a row, but it doesn't mean shit ... if we don't continue on this wave and playing good hockey," he said. "We're still behind, we still gotta win games. Just thinking of the next one."

Three of Vancouver's remaining eight games are against non-playoff teams (Arizona, Ottawa, Seattle). The game likely circled on their schedule is Monday, April 18th against the Dallas Stars, who as mentioned, they're trying to catch in the wild card race.

Canucks defenceman, Quinn Hughes, scored the overtime winner on Tuesday night and told the media that their is belief in their group to get this done.

"We got eight games left, see if we can take it one day at a time. But it's exciting, we wanted to be in (the playoff race)," Hughes said. "It's hard to be in it with the way we started."

The Canucks will be back in action on Thursday night when they host the Arizona Coyotes.
