Since joining the Edmonton Oilers after a fall-out with the San Jose Sharks, Evander Kane has looked great. The 30-year-old forward, who's signed until the end of this season, has 16 goals and 29 points in 34 games, and there are already rumours that the Oilers are looking to lock him up past the 2021-22 year. Kane has also had much less controversy surrounding him during his time in Edmonton, but it appears his ex is attempting to change that.

Anna Kane, who had been locked in a bitter custody dispute with her former husband, claims that Kane getting out of his contract with San Jose and signing with Edmonton was no accident. She states it was an elaborate ruse to save money in his bankruptcy lawsuit.

"I don't understand why the National Hockey League fully supports a con artist who is now trying to trick them out of millions by getting intentionally fired from the Sharks because his bankruptcy debt is only tied to the contract," said Anna Kane. "Also, moving out of America because he is facing bankruptcy charges. He's hustling all of you! And you are taking it!"

Kane's tenure with the Sharks was rocky, to say the least. He was initially suspended 41 games for giving them a fake COVID-19 vaccination card. Upon his return, he was sent to the minors while the team worked on a trade. It was there that he allegedly crossed international borders while he was supposed to be isolating after testing positive for COVID-19. The Sharks, after that allegation, terminated his contract, leading to Kane joining the Oilers. The NHL investigated these claims and found no wrongdoing. It also investigated claims that Kane gambled on games he was involved in and that he assaulted his ex-wife. In both cases, the NHL said it could not find sufficient evidence to punish Kane.
