The NCAA Championship game between Minnesota State & Denver University concluded last night & it was hectic.

After dominating the first 40 minutes, maintaining 1-0 lead scored by Sam Morton (video to follow), the Mavericks looked poised to win it all.

However, the Pioneers from Denver are not a program that likes to submit. Denver G Magnus Chrona almost singlehandedly kept DU in the match after his team failed to contain Minnesota St. much of the opening two periods.

At the other end, Hobey Baker Winner G Dryden McKay (NHL Free Agent, by the way) stood tall all night, like this stop here:

However, despite playing well individually, McKay's team disintegrated in front of him. The Minnesota St. Mavericks were 26-1-0 when scoring first this season, due to their strict system, relentless forecheck, & practicing risk free habits.

They did none of that in the 3rd period when Denver threw the kitchen sink at them; they folded like a lawn chair.

The Pioneers scored 3 unanswered goals followed by two empty netters to secure the program's second National Championship in five years. They also tied the University of Michigan for most all-time with 9.

With the conclusion of the NCAA's hockey season, free agents / NHL draftees are on watch. Most notably, Free Agent Hobey Baker Winner G Dryden McKay. He should field a strong group of suitors.
