Making a mistake that leads to your team losing the game can be pretty disheartening even for a veteran player. It can be so much worse when it's your first ever NHL game. Luckily for Cole Reinhardt of the Ottawa Senators, he had some support as a mistake in the third period led to a powerplay goal that served as the game winner for the Nashville Predators.

With less than eight minutes to go, Reinhardt was attempting to check the stick, and ended up with a hooking penalty with the game tied at 2. On the ensuing powerplay, Ryan Johansen potted the goal that eventually won the Preds the game 3-2. Reinhardt was very down on himself on the bench, but veteran Austin Watson would offer support with a few pats on the back and some words of encouragement.

Reinhardt, a sixth round pick of the Ottawa Senators in 2020, had spent his entire pro career so far with Bellville in the AHL. The 22-year-old had been having a good season there before being called up on Thursday because of injuries in the Sens lineup. I'm sure he'll learn from his mistake and it's always good to get support from your teammates when you mess up.
